2009 Entertainment Coupon Book Sale - Through December 10, 2008.
Acton-Boxborough PIP (Parent Involvement Project) is selling Entertainment 2009 coupon books to raise money for PIP community math and science activities (Market Math, Star Party, annual PIP ABRHS Scholarship, our STEM Book club and more).
Family Domino Math Night and PIP Showcase - January 21, 2009, 5:00 to 8:00pm. Location: Boxborough Public Library. All ages.

5th Grade Market Math - February 11, 2009.
Learn about thermometry and advanced "market" math as part of the 5th grade "super" market math event at Roche Bros. Open House 4:30 to 7:30pm.
4th Grade Star Party - March 2, 2009.
Meet amateur astronomers, get a peek at the night sky and visit Galileo at the Parker-Damon Building. Bad Weather Dates: Mar. 3, Mar. 5.
3rd Grade Market Math - March 31, 2009.
Scan, weigh, measure, and estimate as part of the 3th grade "super" market math event at Roche Bros. Open House 4:30 to 7:30pm.
Spring Skid School -
April 2009. Acton-Boxborough Skid School is a hands-on advanced driving training for teens. The Acton-Boxborough sessions are generously sponsored by PIP, Danny's Place and ABRHS SADD. These organizations are proud to dedicate funding to making Skid School more affordable for teens in the Acton-Boxborough area. Sign Up Online.
Solar Panel Open House and Renewable Energy Speaker - May 10, 2009. Take a solar panel building tour (between 1:00 and 5:00pm) then learn about renewable energy solutions from Sajed Kamal at 2:00pm.
SummerSkills Fundraiser - May through June. Buy Summerskills K-12 math, language arts and language books at a discount. All proceeds support PIP activities.

PIP STEM Discovery Fest 2009 - November 2, 2009. Interactive showcase of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Talk to scientists and engineers who will demonstrate their inventions and discuss their careers at ABRHS. Open House 6:00 to 8:30pm. Grades 6 - 12 and parents.

Community Events
The Discovery Museums in Acton -
Inspire enduring curiosity and love of learning through interactive discovery, hands-on inquiry and scientific investigations. Younger children learn while they play at the Children's Discovery Museum. Older children explore scientific concepts and hands-on creativity at the Science Discovery Museum. The Museums have extensive school programs which include museum field trips, group visits, and classroom outreach.
Green Acton -
Green Acton is a new volunteer organization helping the community live greener. What is green living? Green living embraces conservation of resources, recycling, sustainability, green construction, alternative energy, local food choices and other environmental topics. Find out more at
