A Special Invitation from Acton PIP to Participate in Acton's Earth Day Festival This Saturday...

Ever wonder where your water comes from? How scientists "test" water to make sure it's safe to use? What your family can do to help conserve and protect our precious water and natural resources?

Bring your family and join Acton PIP and many local groups and organizations in celebrating Earth Day 2006. The Earth Day Festival, sponsored by St. Matthew's Church and Acton Citizens for Environmental Safety (ACES), will be held this Saturday, April 29th (rain or shine) from 10am - 3pm at St. Matthew's Church (Central Street) in Acton. Free Admission and Activities, Food, Music, Door Prizes and more. Check out a hybrid car, learn how to design a greenhouse, conduct energy check-ups for your home...and more. A show by Animal Adventures of Bolton will take place from 12:30 to 1:30pm.

Acton PIP will feature H2O kit testing (bring a sample from home!) and special "water wise" placemat* "give-a-way" thanks to PIP's very own science experts, Cynthia Calcagni, Nancy Young, and Julia Miles, who are spearheading PIP's Earth Day activities...

Special Note: We need volunteers to help facilitate PIP's Earth Day activities including water testing and local watershed activities. *** If you can help out with the PIP Earth Day activities (adult or student volunteers - will train - no experience required), please contact Acton PIP by e-mail at actonpip@yahoo.com or call Carlie Krakoff at 263-9071 or Karen Herther at 263-6742 asap ***

" In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught (Baba Dioum)." Hope that you can participate in the Acton Earth Day Festival on April 29th... and also visit Acton PIP's "Virtual" Earth Day* at www.actonpip.org after April 29 for tips, games and puzzles, resources and more ...! — Karen Herther and Carlie Krakoff for Acton PIP actonpip@yahoo.com
