2020 Skate FUNdraiser
The 2020 AB Skate FUNdraiser launched the local tribute to Caroll Spinney (Acton High Class of 1951) aka ‘Big Bird’ and Oscar the Grouch! Skating, DJ music and refreshments were enjoyed by all ages & ice skating abilities. Non-skaters and ‘Big Bird’ supporters were welcome! Many wore 'Big Bird' YELLOW & shared local memories that celebrated Caroll. We shared 'seeds of kindness' (sunflower bookmarks and seeds from the West Acton Citizens' Library). Special thank you to Nashoba Valley Olympia in Boxborough for the very generous donation of the ice rink time and Cooke’s Skate Rentals for early opening & offering some complimentary skate rentals.
