Night of Code

2021 Night of Code

Night of Code is slated for Monday, December 6 from 6-8pm online. Activities include playing code.org games like Minecraft and Dance Party, and "Unplugged" games including Binary Baubles and Graph Paper Programming. We will have breakout rooms led by student volunteers for each activity.

Computer Science

The Night of Code is a fun-filled introduction to computer science through games and activities from code.org for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. The event is FREE but registration is required. Night of Code is sponsored by AB PIP STEM and the AB Schools and coincides with Computer Science Education Week. Previously, Night of Code was held at the RJ Grey JHS Library, but we plan on having an online zoom format this year. We will offer several breakout rooms with various activities that introduce coding. Some of the activities are paper based; others are online. Later, play the online games at home at code.org.

Students can complete activities in any order they like, and collect a stamp for each activity on this passport. There is an optional accelerated activities station for young computer gurus.
